Evaluation

1)In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Title-Our title is maybe more unconventional as it is a crosshair with blood splatter and the title in the middle of it.Compared to other movies like this they may opt for gun fire and bullet holes to reveal the title of the film.

Setting-
The setting is reasonably typical of the hit man genre because it is in a suburban setting in the house of the target which is similar to a lot of hit man movies as more often than not at some point a target is murdered in their home.

Costume/props-
The costume and props are also similar and dissimilar to other hit man movies in the fact that some hit man movies opt for a smart look whereas others such as taken opt for the more stealthy/casual look. The props however are stereotypical of hit man movies due to the fact there is a weapon which is always the case in hit man movies.

Camera work and editing-
The editing that takes place is similar to the conventions of a hit man production because it is fast paced and allows the audience to see what is happening in both sides of the story. The camera work is also very fast paced incorporating tracking shots and panning shots to give the opening a more action packed theme, so is similar to a action thriller.

Story-
The story is again similar to other action thrillers in the idea that they usually are trying to get to someone in charge of an organisation/business that the hit man has to take out. However unconventionally by incorporating a voice over to our opening it goes against convention as you do not see many action thrillers with this in their opening scenes making it more unique. The voice over at the end also allows the audience to know what will happen/what the protagonist will try and do later on.

Genre-
The genre is action thriller, the opening suggests this as there is a shooting scene and fast paced music which makes the audience think that it is an action movie.

How characters are introduced-
They are introduced unconventionally compared to other action thrillers because they are introduced using a voice over with text making it unique to other action thrillers.

2)How does your media product represent different social groups?
Shown in the prezi above.

3)What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

To conclude I think in order to produce this movie we would most likely have to gain funds from other companies as due to a lack of big distributors in the UK it would not go world wide and as a result it would probably be best to go to an art house cinema.Such as Hunt For Gollum a online film we would also need to try and gain money and expertise from people willing to work for free online as like Hunt For Gollum or Colin we are also a micro-budget film.

4)Who would be the audience for your media product?
To conclude generally a normal teenager any age from 16-30 would be our target audience for our production. These people would be interested in normal things and not anything out the blue whilst niche audiences may go to watch films for the cerebral experience our audience is not looking for that and just wants an easy to understand good movie.

5)How did you attract/address your audience?

Mind Map created by chapman-j-2 with GoConqr
To conclude I have used many different technologies in this production progress and each has taught me different things and allowed me to improve my task dramatically without these then i would not have been able to produce the production to the quality it is at now. These technologies and others like this has made filming good productions simple for little money which is good for the micro budget producer.
7)Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

This above is my final production piece. To see my preliminary task please revert to the preliminary task page.

I learnt how to make better use of cuts whilst in the first task they were shot and fast in my final piece they were much longer and cut at better times allowing suspense to be built to good effect. With camera work I feel that it has improved massively in the final piece there is a variety of shots whether that is a panning shot or a tracking shot and shot framing is used to better effect having the protagonist occupy most of the screen.Where as in my first piece it generally sticks to a few shots and doesn't vary much at all. With regards to the first task we were asked to incorporate the 180 degree rule, match on action and shot/reverse shot.I feel compared to the 1st the final pice used shot/reverse shot to greater effect building tension and match on action was also used to much better effect whilst in both it clearly shows a hand opening a door, in the final piece it is much more effective. In addition to this I believe the 180 degree rule in both are not crossed unless the camera pans around the person being filmed.
